This Privacy Policy describes how Gwinnett County Community Development Corporation, doing business as “GCCDC” (“GCCDC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, shares, and safeguards Personal Information when you use gwinnetttransitionalhousing.org (the “Site”) or interact with our programs, events, volunteer opportunities, and donation tools.
By using the Site or providing information, you agree to this Policy and our Terms & Conditions.
1) Scope & Who We Are
This Policy applies to information we collect online (Site, forms, email/SMS), and offline (events, applications), and from third-party service providers (e.g., payment processors, background check partners), in connection with our nonprofit mission.
2) Personal Information We Collect
a) Information You Provide
Contact & Account Info: name, email, phone, address, account credentials.
Application Info (as applicable): household composition, income, employment, references, prior housing, landlord information, emergency contacts, supportive-service needs, and documents you upload (e.g., IDs).
Sensitive Information (only where necessary and lawful, and with your consent where required): government identifiers (e.g., SSN or driver’s license), background-check data, demographic information you choose to provide, health-related accommodations, and faith-based preferences if you voluntarily share them.
Volunteer/Partner Info: availability, skills, background-check results (via third parties, with consent), certifications.
Donations: donation amounts, preferences, and acknowledgment details (we do not store full payment card numbers).
Communications: messages, feedback, and preferences.
b) Information Collected Automatically
Device/Usage Data: IP address, browser type, pages viewed, referring/exit pages, timestamps.
Cookies & Similar Technologies: to enable core functionality, preferences, analytics, and (if used) limited marketing. See Section 7.
c) Information from Third Parties
Payment Processors (e.g., Stripe/PayPal or similar) for secure donations.
Background Check Providers (with consent where required).
Analytics Providers (e.g., Google Analytics).
Referral/Partner Organizations (with appropriate consent/agreements).
3) How We Use Personal Information
We use Personal Information to:
Operate, maintain, and improve the Site and services;
Process inquiries, applications, eligibility reviews, and case management;
Coordinate housing, supportive services, volunteers, and events;
Process donations, issue receipts, and acknowledge contributions;
Communicate about programs, schedules, updates, and opportunities (email/SMS);
Perform analytics, reporting, and impact measurement;
Comply with laws, protect safety, security, and prevent misuse or fraud;
Fulfill any purpose disclosed at collection or with your consent.
4) Legal Bases (EEA/UK Visitors)
Where GDPR/UK GDPR applies, our legal bases may include: consent, performance of a contract (e.g., processing your application), legitimate interests (program administration, Site security, communications), legal obligations, and vital interests (safety).
5) How We Share Information
We may share Personal Information with:
Service Providers: payment processors, background-check vendors, IT/hosting, email/SMS platforms, analytics, case-management tools—bound by contractual confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
Program Partners/Referrals: with your consent or as reasonably necessary to coordinate services and benefits.

Organizational Transfers: in the event of a restructuring of nonprofit programs (not for commercial sale).

We do not sell Personal Information. We also do not share donor lists for unrelated marketing.
6) Donations & Payment Processing
Donations are processed by third-party payment processors; we do not store full payment card numbers. Processors handle card data under their own security certifications (e.g., PCI DSS).
7) Cookies & Online Tracking
We may use cookies and similar technologies for:
Essential operations (security, preferences);
Analytics (traffic and usage insights);
(Optional) Limited outreach about programs and events.
Your choices:
Browser settings to block/clear cookies (Site functionality may be limited).
Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on (if applicable).
Do Not Track: the Site does not currently respond to DNT signals.
8) Data Retention
We retain Personal Information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described, comply with legal and grant requirements, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Application and case-management records may be retained per funding, audit, or regulatory schedules.
9) Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the data. No system is 100% secure. Please use strong passwords and notify us of any suspected unauthorized access.
10) Children’s Privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under 13 without appropriate parental/guardian consent.
11) Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your Personal Information, and to opt out of certain processing.
U.S. State Rights (e.g., CA/VA/CO/CT/UT): you may request access/deletion and opt out of certain sharing. We do not sell Personal Information.
EEA/UK: you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, and object to processing; you may also withdraw consent where we rely on consent.

13) Fair Housing & Non-Discrimination
GCCDC complies with applicable federal, state, and local non-discrimination and fair-housing laws. Program decisions are based on lawful eligibility criteria, capacity, and funding—not on protected characteristics.
14) International Visitors & Transfers
If you access the Site from outside the U.S., you understand that your data may be processed in the U.S., where laws may differ from those in your country.
15) Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy. Changes take effect upon posting with a revised “Last updated” date.
